I recently celebrated 8 years of being involved in the TiE Young Entrepreneurs (TYE) a Global Program that teaches high school students in grades 10, 11 and 12 the rewards, opportunities and challenges of entrepreneurship.

The TYE Program helps high school students discover entrepreneurship through the creation of a startup and business case competition. It also equips them with skills that will be invaluable for their entry into higher education or the workforce in the future.

Again this year I had the privilege training another amazing group of young people on my area of expertise “Personal Branding and Effective Communication Skills for Business” at the KPMG Offices in Downtown Vancouver.

I’ve been a volunteer trainer and startup mentor since it’s inception for over 8 years now and feel blessed to have helped literally hundreds of young people become the kind of leaders and change makers that the world needs.

To the teams this year – well done everyone!! You all had such innovative ideas and I know you’re going to be incredibly successful if you keep applying yourself, work hard and don’t give up.
