I was honoured to sit at the Head Table and attend the BC India Business Network (BCIBN) Lunch with the Hon. Andrew Scheer (Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada and Leader of the Official Opposition) at the beautiful Fairmont Waterfront. The purpose of the event was to provide him with feedback and suggestions from the local South Asian business community before his trip to India.

It was moderated by the Hon. Stockwell Day with the President and CEO of BCIBN, Vivek Savkur also taking part in the panel discussion.

I was there because I believe that trade and strategic partnership between India and Canada is **absolutely vital** and I’m SO proud of my Indian heritage.

It was a sold out event with many dignitaries in attendance. On the Head Table with me were the Hon. Herb Dhaliwal, Philanthropist Hari Varshney, Member of Parliament Mark Warawa, Harpreet Singh, Vivek Savkur and of course the Hon. Andrew Scheer. I was the only woman on the head table.

We had a lively and informative dialogue with some great questions from the audience. It was an excellent event!
